Position Summary:

Reporting to the EVP of Business Development, the VP, Mid-Atlantic Region Business is accountable for leading business development for onsite water treatment and reuse systems within the Mid-Atlantic region (primarily the NYC Metro Area to start). Work to understand and quantify the market for services and share that understanding with the BD and Leadership Teams. Provide Design/Build and Operations (DBO) client relations support for existing clients to grow the Mid-Atlantic DBO bases while also assessing and developing Ownership (Water Purchase Agreement – WPA) opportunities. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and customer service related skills.

Qualifications required:

  • B.S. in Sales, Marketing, or related degree program
  • 10 years of experience in business development

Qualifications desired:

  • MS or MBA degree
  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering or related field is a plus
  • Experience in water and energy-related disciplines
  • Experience with onsite or distributed water systems
  • Project management experience through sales execution
  • Understanding of complex sales
  • Customer Relationship Management and associated software experience (Salesforce or equivalent)

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Mid-Atlantic region business development and parallel coordination with corporate business development efforts and strategic planning initiatives. Coordinate with EVP BD and Leadership Team members.
  • Particular focus on wastewater treatment and direct water reuse DB/O and DBOO opportunities within the footprint while also supporting existing clients and contract operations growth.
  • Collect, organize, and disseminate market intelligence.
  • Work with the team to improve business development and marketing aspects of the business including, but not limited to, marketing brochures, qualifications statements, customer relations management, etc.
  • Implement effective communications at all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Lead the NYC & Mid-Atlantic region business development region including developing leads, writing proposals, bringing in new projects, and managing contracts for onsite systems.
  • Maintain an active role in the implementation of the company's Strategic Plan in NYC.
  • Work collaboratively with other functional leads to mitigate business risks including the safety and compliance department.
  • Participate in the formal continuous improvement program in concert with the corporate initiatives.
  • Develop and/or enhance strategic partnerships with higher education and site/civil/environmental consultants for onsite water treatment and reuse.
  • Coordinate with existing WWTP owners who are not in compliance to expand contract operation services.
  • Address sewer mining challenge by coordinating with key stakeholders
  • Travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, particularly NYC and other areas as required (Baltimore, D.C., Philadelphia,).
