Our CLIENT is a European company focused on the international utility water sector with customers around the world.

With its market leading hardware and data provision, our CLIENT provides water utilities with new insights for the effective operating of their water supply and wastewater networks. 

This USA based role is tasked with accelerating the company’s international success domestically within the Western US.

Role Overview

Working closely with the European head office, our CLIENT is seeking an experienced, energetic and ambitious results-driven individual to accelerate the development of the Company’s solutions in the North American market with a primary focus on the US.  The right candidate will be expected to develop new opportunities and support existing customers overseeing both business development, customer service, marketing and field engineering activities.

Building on an existing and high profile initial customer base, the selected candidate’s focus will be both on business development and the development and management of a responsive, technical customer support network.

Ideally, our CLIENT is looking to build a self-sustaining subsidiary business focused on delivering solutions to customers throughout North America.  Accordingly, the successful applicant will also be expected to have experience with and an aptitude for overseeing these additional business functions:

  • Customer Service
  • Project Management and Delivery
  • In-field Technical Support

A key part of this role will be the performance management of the territory, setting and monitoring targets to ensure company goals and targets are met or exceeded.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Working successfully and positively with the Company’s technical, research, operational and administrative functions at the European head office will be critical for this role.

Required Experience

  • Business development in the B2B market including sales to utilities and/or other monopoly entities and key account management.
  • Performance management of territory including setting of and delivery to agreed sales and gross margin levels and tracking and reporting within CRM systems eg. Salesforce.
  • Confident and persuasive public speaker.
  • Financially aware including an ability to analyse numerical verbal and other sources of information and present on the same both internally and externally, maintaining proper oversight and control of costs across the business.

Desired Experience

Knowledge of the USA water sector.
Understanding of the role of data in optimising asset management and “IoT”/”Smart City” trends.
Creating and executing market and product development plans.
